Thunderbrook Hay Cobs are a high-quality forage-based feed designed to support your horse’s natural dietary needs. Made from 100% pure grass sourced from the pre-Alpine region of southern Germany, these cobs capture the incredible diversity of nature. With over 50 different varieties of grasses and herbs, they offer a rich source of natural fibre.

Not only do these cobs offer excellent nutritional value, but they’re also incredibly versatile, making them perfect for a wide range of feeding needs. Whether used as a full or partial hay replacer, or simply as a tasty treat, Hay Cobs deliver the essential fibre and goodness your horse needs in every bite.
Why Feed Hay Cobs?

Ensuring your horse gets sufficient fibre is essential for their digestive health, but sometimes, providing high-quality roughage can be a challenge. Poor hay quality, dental issues, or horses with particular dietary needs may require an alternative. That’s where Hay Cobs come in!

Hay Cobs are the ideal solution for:

Senior horses with dental problems or those struggling to maintain weight. The soft texture makes them easy to chew, and they can be soaked into a mash for easier consumption.

Horses with sensitive digestive systems, as the natural ingredients promote gut health and provide much-needed fibre without unnecessary additives.

Horses prone to laminitis, as Hay Cobs are naturally low in sugar and starch, making them a safe, nutritious option for those with metabolic sensitivities.

What sets Hay Cobs apart is their exceptional purity. With over 50 varieties of grasses and herbs, including nutritious forbs, this diverse mix mimics the horse’s natural diet. The absence of preservatives, GM ingredients, or chemical processing ensures your horse is only consuming what nature intended.
Fibre and flexibility for every horse

Fibre is essential for equine health, playing a key role in promoting healthy digestion and preventing colic. The unique texture of Hay Cobs encourages chewing, which stimulates saliva production and helps buffer stomach acid. This extended chewing time is beneficial for overall digestive health and mimics your horse’s natural grazing behaviour.

Hay Cobs can be fed dry for horses with good teeth, offering a satisfying crunch. However, for older horses or those with dental issues, they can be soaked in warm water to create a soft, tasty mash that’s easy to consume and digest. This flexibility makes Hay Cobs a great option for a wide variety of horses, whether they need a high-quality hay replacer or just a delicious treat to enrich their feeding routine.
A perfect addition to your horse’s diet

Thunderbrook Hay Cobs are more than just a substitute for hay. They are a nutritious, fibre-rich treat that can be fed as part of a balanced diet, or simply offered as an enjoyable snack. Their versatility means they can be used in a number of ways:

As a full or partial hay replacer for horses with special dietary needs or when hay quality is poor.

As a carrier for balancers and supplements, providing an easy way to feed your horse their daily nutrients.

As treats or in treat balls, offering fun and enrichment for your horse, whether in the stable or out in the paddock.

The beauty of alpine grasses and herbs

The alpine grasslands from which Thunderbrook Hay Cobs are sourced are rich in biodiversity, offering a wide array of grasses and herbs. These fields have remained untouched by harmful herbicides and chemicals, allowing the plants to flourish naturally. The smell of fresh alpine grass is not only enticing to your horse but also a reminder of the pure, untouched nature from which these cobs are derived.

Thunderbrook Hay Cobs are completely free from preservatives, additives, binders, and GM ingredients, making them a wholesome, natural choice for your horse. Their innovative processing ensures a highly compressed, dust-free cob that is easy to store and handle.

Dry feeding:
When feeding HayCobs dry, feed them separately, not as part of a mash or sprinkled on top of a
feed. Your horse must be able to chew them thoroughly. If your horse is prone to choke, do not feed
dry.

Soaked feeding:
Soak thoroughly to make a mash before feeding. For veterans or horses with poor dental condition
HayCobs can be pre-soaked with warm water to make a tasty mash.
As a mash, it can be used as a carrier for Thunderbrook Synergy, Daily Essentials or other
supplements. If soaking the HayCobs, we recommend that you soak them for at least 3 hours , or
preferably overnight, to make sure there are no hard centres left in the mash.
